Hon. Ben Fuller (Ret.)

Hon. Ben A. Fuller is Of Counsel at Hawthorne, Atchison and Riddle, where his practice area focuses on general civil litigation, personal injury, and plaintiff's work. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Circuit Judge for the 19th Judicial Circuit from 1996 through 2023 and served two terms as Presiding Judge for the circuit.


Hon. Ben Fuller earned his law degree from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 1990. Before entering private practice he served as a Law Clerk for Judge Sam Taylor at the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and then as Staff Attorney for Alabama Supreme Court Justice Henry B. Steagall, II. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, the Alabama Circuit Judge's Association, and the Bar Association of the United States Supreme Court.


Ben is a Fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation, and a former faculty member of the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada, Reno. He serves on several state-wide judicial committees and is a former chairman of the Chief Justice's Committee on Quality in the Courts. He is a past faculty member at The Alabama Judicial College, Troy University, and currently teaches an annual intersession course at Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.



Ben has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 43 years. They have two adult children, Madison Davis and Richard. Ben is a Deacon at his family's church, First Presbyterian Church in Prattville, AL.
